Stuart Finkel, MD, of NY Gastroenterology & Digestive Disorders has been an esteemed member of Upper East Side, New York City’s medical community for more than 40 years. In addition to being board-certified in both Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Finkel is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and Gastroenterology at the world-renowned medical training center at Mount Sinai, one of the best gastrointestinal training programs in the country.

After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Finkel pursued his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his degree ranked first in his class while serving as president of his chapter of the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha.

He completed his internship and residency at New York’s Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterological and Liver Diseases at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Finkel then began practicing, and since 1978 he has continued to teach endoscopy to the GI Fellows.

Dr. Finkel is proud to announce his affiliation with Midtown Surgical Center, 305 East 47th Street, where he does GI endoscopic procedures (endoscopy, colonoscopy) in a new, state-of-the-art Endoscopy Unit, featuring Olympus endoscopes.

Dr. Finkel knows the unpleasant symptoms of a digestive problem require immediate attention but also understands that discussing the symptoms can be uncomfortable for a patient. That’s why he makes sure that new patients can expect to get an appointment quickly, and that every patient gets the personalized care they need in a comfortable, compassionate environment. Patients can also expect a follow-up within two days, to ensure their treatment is going according to plan.
